Not Sure Where to Start?

You don’t have to figure that out on your own.

Many families reach out before they know exactly what’s going on. Whether you’re noticing concerns with speech, language, reading, or learning, we’re happy to talk through your questions and help you decide whether an evaluation or therapy would be beneficial.

Sometimes reassurance is all a family needs. Other times, early support can make all the difference.

Do you accept insurance?

We are an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. Upon request, we’re happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Because every insurance plan is different, we recommend contacting your provider to ask about your out-of-network speech-language pathology benefits before getting started.

How do I get started?

Getting started is easy.

Reach out through our contact form or schedule a consultation, and we’ll spend a few minutes learning about your child, your concerns, and your goals.

If therapy or an evaluation seems like the right next step, we’ll guide you through the process and recommend the services that best meet your child’s needs.

What ages do you work with?

We work with children from birth through age 21, including toddlers, school-age children, teens, and young adults.

Because every child develops differently, we’re happy to talk through your concerns and help determine whether an evaluation or therapy would be beneficial.

Can my child receive services at school?

Yes. We partner directly with schools throughout New York City to provide speech-language therapy, literacy support, evaluations, screenings, and consultation.

School-based services require approval and coordination with your child’s school. If your school isn’t already partnering with Gotham Learning Partners, we’re happy to start that conversation with them.

Where do therapy sessions take place?

We offer services in several settings to best meet your child’s needs.

  • At your child’s school
  • In your home when appropriate
  • In a private therapy space
  • Via teletherapy

Together, we’ll determine which option is the best fit based on your child’s needs, your family’s schedule, and availability.

Where do you provide teletherapy?

We provide teletherapy for families throughout New York City who prefer the convenience and flexibility of virtual sessions.

Many children thrive with teletherapy, and we’ll help you determine whether it is the right fit for your child’s needs.

Can evaluations be used for school services?

Yes.

Our comprehensive evaluations can support requests for school-based services, including IEPs and 504 Plans. Each evaluation includes standardized testing, a detailed written report, practical recommendations, and time to review the results together.

With your permission, we’re also happy to collaborate with your child’s school or educational team.

How long are therapy sessions?

Most therapy sessions are 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your child’s age, needs, and goals.

Recommendations are made following the evaluation and individualized for each child.

How often will my child need therapy?

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer.

Some children benefit from one session each week, while others may need more frequent support. We’ll recommend a schedule based on your child’s evaluation, goals, and family priorities.

How long does therapy usually last?

Every child progresses at their own pace.

Some children achieve their goals within a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll regularly monitor progress and adjust goals together along the way.

Will I be involved in my child’s therapy?

Absolutely.

Parents are an important part of the therapy process. We’ll keep you informed, share strategies you can use at home, and work together to help your child’s new skills carry over into everyday life.

My child is shy. Will that be a problem?

Not at all.

Many children need a little time to feel comfortable in a new environment. Building trust is one of the most important parts of therapy, and sessions are designed to help children feel safe, supported, and excited to come back.

My child doesn’t have a diagnosis. Can we still schedule an evaluation?

Yes.

Many families come to us because they have concerns but aren’t sure what’s causing them. An evaluation can help identify your child’s strengths, areas of need, and whether therapy would be beneficial.
